Rules & Entry Details

  1. The GOLDEN SHAKER Cocktail Challenge is organised by the Bartenders Association of Ireland in conjunction with Reàl & Finest Call Cocktail Ingredients.
  2. The GOLDEN SHAKER Cocktail Challenge is OPEN to all bartenders working in the Republic of Ireland.
  3. GOLDEN SHAKER Cocktail Challenge details:
    • Create two original cocktail recipes
      • One with a Tropical theme
      • One with an Irish theme
    • Submit your recipes on the official entry form below.
    • The ten (10) best entries will be invited to compete at the final to be held in Shaker & Vine, 14 Main Street, Swords, Co. Dublin.
    • All finalists will receive a goody bag compliments of the organisers.
    • Winner will receive €1000 and the coveted GOLDEN SHAKER.
    • Finalists finishing in 2nd & 3rd place will receive trophies.
    • Friends, family and supporters are welcome.
  4. Closing date for entry:  Mon 20th August 2018. The 10 finalists will be announced on Tuesday 21st August.
  5. The aim of the competition is to find the most attractive looking and best tasting cocktails related to the theme using Reàl and/or Finest Call products. These cocktails should be presented by a professional bartender that has the ability to impress & engage with the audience and work at the same time.
  6. All recipes must contain a minimum of 1.5cl Reàl Infused Syrup or Finest Call (see available flavours here).
  7. Richmond Marketing products are available for your use, if needed, and can be found here.
  8. Competitors are requested to present themselves in professional bar attire or an outfit relating to their cocktail theme (costume, etc).
  9. A minimum of two alcohol ingredients and a maximum of four alcohol ingredients are permitted.
  10. A maximum of 7cl's (70ml) of alcohol products are permitted in any one serving.
  11. Each competitor should prepare Two (2) portions of each recipe for judging (2x tropical + 2x Irish themed).
  12. There is no maximum number of ingredients but competitors should consider the recipe's suitability for marketing and reproduction purposes.
  13. Homemade syrups are NOT permitted.
  14. Homemade infusions, tincture, bitters are permitted.
  15. Competitors are free to use any glassware or drinking vessel and must provide these themselves.
  16. The use of side plates, trays or pedestals are permitted.
  17. All submissions become the property of BAI and American Beverage Marketers and may be shared in other markets around the world.
